Ferns are beautiful, versatile, fascinating, robust architectural plants. They are remarkably tolerant of a wide range of soil, moisture and light conditions. There are so many frond shapes, colours, textures, hues and heights, and can be planted individually or in groups to achieve a lush, tropical effect.

Asplenium scolopendrium EVERGREEN. A popular native fern with its leathery strap-like bright-green fronds. It is often seen growing in hedgerows and woods. Will tolerate some dry shade.		HEIGHT:45cm. SPREAD: 45cm.
Asplenium scolopendrium Cristatum (Crested Harts Tongue) HARDY. Rich evergreen, tongue-shaped fronds produced in shuttlecock formation. The tips have an unusual crested shape. Tolerates most soils.		HEIGHT: 40cm. SPREAD: 40cm.
Athyrium niponicum Pictum (Japanese Painted Fern) HARDY DECIDUOUS. Striking silvery-grey fronds combined with wine-red midribs. For a moist neutral to acid soil in a shaded sheltered site.		HEIGHT: 50cm. SPREAD: 50cm.
Athyrium niponicum Red Beauty DECIDUOUS. A hardy, compact variety with red stems and veins, and silver variegated leaves. Requires full or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil.		HEIGHT: 45cm SPREAD: 45cm
Cyrtomium fortunei (Japanese Holly Fern) EVERGREEN. Upright habit of broad leathery fronds. Suits most moist soils in a shaded area.		HEIGHT: 45cm. SPREAD: 45cm.
Dryopteris atrata (Shaggy Shield Fern) EVERGREEN. Dark green fronds, requires moist, well-drained soil in full or partial shade.		HEIGHT: 90cm. SPREAD: 90cm.
Dryopteris erythrosora (Japanese Rosy Buckler Fern) HARDY DECIDUOUS. Young fronds of vivid coppery pink, turning yellow-green to gold in autumn. Plant in a moist, fertile soil with some shade.		HEIGHT: 45-60cm. SPREAD: 45-60cm.
Dryopteris erythrosora Prolifera (Dwarf Rosy Buckler) SEMI-EVERGREEN. A dwarf form with finely divided fronds. Young growth is copper-red. Plant in sheltered site in humus-rich soil in semi-shade.		HEIGHT:30cm. SPREAD: 30cm.
Matteucia struthiopteris (Shuttlecock Fern) DECIDUOUS. Ferns arranged in a shuttlecock like cluster. Plant in a moist soil in full or partial shade.		HEIGHT: 120cm. SPREAD: 60cm.
Osmunda regalis Purpurescens (Purple Royal Fern) DECIDUOUS. Bright purple young fronds. Plant in moist soil in full or partial shade.		HEIGHT: 90-120cm.
