Conifer Availability List

Conifers add colour and shape to any garden, and because they are mainly evergreen, will last the whole year! There is an amazing choice of shades, shapes and sizes ranging from tiny dwarfs to magnificent trees. Most are easy to look after, requiring little pruning and watering. They tend to be reasonably disease resistant but may need some attention during really cold spells.

Abies koreana Compact Dwarf (Korean Fir) A slow growing spreading conifer with dark green needles and beautiful purple cones. For all fertile soils in an open sunny aspect.		HEIGHT: 2-3m in 10 years.
Abies Koreana Molli Conical shaped, compact plump with dark green foliage that is silver below. Violet blue cones. Plant in moist fertile soil in sun or dapple shade.		HEIGHT: 60-80cm in 10 years.
Abies koreana Silberlocke (Korean Fir) Small pyramidal bush, with curly needles, white on the underside. Purple cones on young plants.Moist well drained soil in sun or semi-shade.		HEIGHT: 1m - 1.5m in 10 years.
Abies nordmanniana A large conical tree. Ideal for use as a christmas tree. Plant in a well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. EVENTUAL		HEIGHT: 60m
Araucaria araucana (Monkey Puzzle) Stiff prickly leaves. One of the few South American trees hardy in Britain. Grows best in moist, loamy soils. Plant in sun or semi shade.		HEIGHT: 15m.
Calocedrus decurrens Maupin Glow (Incense Cedar) An upright variety.		HEIGHT: TBC.
Cedrus atlantica Glauca (Blue Cedar) Large growing with beautiful silvery-blue foliage year round. Ideal as lawn specimen. Allow plenty of space. Sun or semi-shade, well-drained soil.		HEIGHT: 4m+ in 10 years.
Cedrus deodara Broad pyramidal habit, glaucous-green slightly drooping foliage. Ideal as lawn specimen. Makes well furnished tree. Most fertile soils in sun or semi shade.		HEIGHT: 4m+ in 10 years.
Cedrus deodara Aurea (Golden Indian Cedar) Makes a broad pyramidal habit with all exposed leaves golden in colour. The semi-weeping habit makes it ideal as a lawn specimen. All fertile soils.		HEIGHT: 3-4m in 10 years.
