CLEMATIS PRUNING TECHNIQUES

GROUP 1 - Cut all stems to 30cm in the first year. In subsequent years, cut out dead or weak stems after flowering. Cut all stems back to 1m in the first year. In subsequent years, prune just above previous year to a strong pair of buds. Prune in autumn or spring.
PG2
GROUP 2 - Cut all stems back to 1m in the first year. In subsequent years, prune just above previous year to a strong pair of buds. Prune in autumn or spring.
PG3
GROUP 3 - Reduce all stems to just above the base of preiovus seasons growth, within 75cm of the soil level. Prune in early March.
