Caring for Cineraria

An elegant houseplant and a herald of spring

A very elegant house plant with masses of daisy-like flowers in a vibrant array of colours ranging from cherry-red, lilac, sky-blue and white. The flowers cover the heart-shaped leaves and last for 4-6 weeks or more.

Secrets of success

POSITION: Bright light but away from direct sunlight.

TEMPERATURE: Keep cool, 7-14C

WATERING:  Water thoroughly, keeping the compost evenly moist to the touch. Do not over water and don’t let the plant sit in water.

HUMIDITY: Stand the pot on a saucer of gravel and water. The water level should not be allowed to cover the top of the gravel.
